The slick, glitzy and glamorous new show Ghoulmaster's Haunted Playhouse opened at the Hudson Theatre Main Stage Friday night right on time to kick off a festive and sexy Halloween season.  Ghoulmaster's Haunted Playhouse is a month long fun and crazy costume party and will play til October 31 st .  The colorful youth driven musical extravaganza is described as "Rocky Horror" meets "Pee Wee's Playhouse" and is the brainchild of  performer/writer/producers Pete Carter and Charles Convery.  Per the production notes "the show appeals to anyone who ever felt like a misfit, a weirdo or a freak - those of us who celebrate Halloween all year around" - Heck, it sounds like half of Los Angeles will be there - ha ha.

Carter created the eccentric Ghoulmaster character several years ago and quickly gained thousands of devoted fans or "Ghoulies" as they are called many who travelled cross country for opening night.  "Ghoulmaster's Ghosts" ran for 6 acclaimed seasons at Six Flags Great Adventure Fright Fest in Jackson, New Jersey and Ghoulmaster's cult-like following grew with his message of acceptance, anti-bullying and making your dreams a reality.  The ambitious 2 act show features glitz, original music, dance, comedy, magic, blood, puppets, cob webs, g strings and lots of flesh.

The colorful talented cast also features David Whitman, Sarah Wins, Lauren Avon, Bre Lyle, Heather Mackay, Sarah Louise, Devin Freeman, Joanne Politt Evans and Sam Centrella and features an impressive original score by Santino Noir, Teddy Blackmore, Brett Line, PJ9K and Mike Dovaire.   The production values and costumes were top notch and very visually appealing.  Be warned... there's a scene where Ghoulmaster does something horrible with his tongue which will not be everyone's cup of tea but hey it is a Halloween show.
